De Amerikaanse econoom John Kenneth Galbraith, auteur van o.a. The Good Society, prees uitdrukkelijk de stemplicht in België. Want alleen een echte democratie i luistert naar iedereen.
De nieuwe Vlaamse regering is geen fan van Galbraith. Zij schaft de opkomstplicht bij de lokale en provinciale verkiezingen af. (db)
