Dirk Barrez, editor-in-chief, started this website in 2001.

Dirk Barrez is the author of 18 books, mainly about our globalising world, the transitions to sustainability and how to achieve them in a democratic way. He was a TV journalist for the public broadcaster in Flanders, Belgium for more than 20 years and made over 50 documentaries and long TV reports for current affairs programs.
